asshole's distant cousin
Friday, May. 09, 2003

hi, it went okay.

we happened to start talking about Lesbian Drama, making jokes about whatever we don't know is going on in Heather's group of friends, which was a perfect lead-in to asking, out of a good, hard laugh, "Speaking of drama, can you dispel some for me for a second?"

still laughing, she responded "sure" and tilted her head because it's obvious that at this point on i could be quietly dropping a nuke or planting a flower, so in that second, i could tell she was concerned.

Still smiling, i said i'd kept forgetting to ask this week, but Heather said Anita was with you last week, and i thought you were with Jenn, etc... brief.

before i could even finish, she eased into my close-to-nervous-without-showing-it rambling with "...no..." she starts searching her mind, "No, the last time i actually SAW anita was on her birthday" (which was about three weeks ago, and she'd told me about before and after it happened). In fact, i guess they were supposed to have hung out last night, and Ash forgot, but kept her promise to see me.

So.

I'm not an asshole. But i feel like a distant cousin of one. At the moment.

'cause, see, i would have been an asshole if i accused her of anything, or waited much longer on it. I do feel like a jerk though, for thinking otherwise, for actually thinking out a game plan to "catch" her... But. I did what i had to do i guess. Ultimately did it right. Stupid me sometimes.

That's the good update.

The even BETTER update is that Bellis is HOUSEHUNTING this weekend, in MY NEIGHBORHOOD. Everybody stay off the roads, Bellis and Beannaithe are in town... ;)
